Muhammad Ali - Still the Greatest!

01

From 'The King' to 'The Greatest,' how could it be different? Well, maybe it could, but some coincidences (called Raf Willems and Nathalie Verbaere in reality) got the ball rolling in the spring of 1997. Marc Hendrickx started a new Odyssey... To the years of his youth, to that other of both major heroes which dominated the glorious seventies.

Those who read the Muhammad Ali – Still the Greatest! English language manuscript dubbed it the best the author had written to that point in time. The interest which several publishing houses in a number of countries had will most likely not have been a coincidence.
Through unforeseen circumstances in the international book world, the expected translations from Dutch and following publications in English and other languages did not happen, unfortunately.
In Belgium, a lot is happening around the book again starting mid-2009, due to the adaptation of one chapter – the one dealing with Ali’s encounter with Belgian boxer Jean-Pierre Coopman - into a theatre play. More on that can be found under the header ‘Theatre’ !

Note: Muhammad Ali - Still the Greatest! is intended for several markets and thus might appear in the U.S. or U.K. For these countries' adaptations Hendrickx is once again cooperating with Connie Kirchberg, with whom he successfully rounded off Elvis Presley, Richard Nixon and the American Dream earlier.

The first, Dutch language edition appeared at the tale end of 2002.
