As a youngster of sixteen, Marc Hendrickx started plunging through the eighties as if they were one big taylor-made course: writing articles, doing research, and acting as translator, producer, editor, and publisher, respectively. This initial work covered many fields, from comics to literature to poetry. Thanks to these early and successful experiences, he was fully prepared to tackle the next logical step: his first publication as an author. Hendrickx scored an international bestseller with Elvis A. Presley--Music, Man, Myth, enjoying numerous media-coverage in the process. Since then, the author presented several highly praised titles. Releases that -without exception- are being supported by thorough research, deep-delving interviews and a carefree, crystal-clear and engaging writing style. What makes Hendrickx' work unique is his original choice of material and way of approaching it. As one of only a few quality authors he has succeeded in making his work interesting, both in content and as a commercial venture, for the international market. As a result, he carved himself a niche of artistic freedom. A feat that in Hendrickx' case guarantees a rather limited production, but of consistent high quality. Today, a lot of his attention focuses on youth books and youth theatre plays, next to regular theatre and assisting those titles of his work that are being published internationally. New, surprising realisations may be expected in the future. Marc Hendrickx is a founding member of The Allied Authors Agency, Belgium’s sole literary agency, operating successfully on the international market since 2004.
